Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), often known as Nanhang, is a Chinese university in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. Nanjing Aviation Industry was founded in 1952, and the university was retitled Nanjing Aeronautical Institute in 1956.

The university's current name was adopted in 1993, and it is considered one of China's premier universities. NUAA, a Chinese Ministry of Education-designated Double First-Class Discipline University, has developed from a teaching-oriented institution to a research-oriented university, under the management of the Commission of National Defense Science, Technology, and Industry.

It was among the first Chinese educational institutions to authorize doctoral, master’s, and bachelor's degrees, despite the fact that the majority of its courses are in science and engineering.

In Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics has two campuses.

The first is at Ming Palace, while the second is on Jiangjun Road in the Jiangning Economic and Technological Development Zone. Both campuses are spread out over a total area of 173 hectares.

The 33rd Annual American Helicopter Society Student Design Competition was won by an aircraft designed by NUAA engineering students in 2016. The university has published a large number of highly referenced scientific papers, including work that has been included in the Nature INDEX database.

NOAA's academics, students, and research staff have manufactured more than 40 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs, or 'drones') for China since its inception (see, List of unmanned aerial vehicles of China).

The world's largest amphibious aircraft, the "Kun dragon" (Kun Long) AG600 (AVIC AG600), made its first successful test flight in 2017. The NUAA Innovation Center and China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Co.Ltd. collaborated on the AG600, which included work on the engine cooling systems.

The Chinese Ministry of Education has designated Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics as a Double First-Class Discipline University. QS World University Rankings also place the university in the top 250 universities in the world.

Many of the topics taught at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, such as Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering, are highly ranked by QS Rankings. Elsevier has ranked the university among the top 500 universities in the world.

Career Opportunities

International students will be accommodated in the International Student Dormitory on the Jiangjun Road site (for undergraduates) and the Ming Palace campus (for Masters and Ph.D. students), all of which have modern facilities.

In most cases, two students share an air-conditioned bedroom, while an apartment often has three to four rooms. The living area has a television, a study table, a couch, and a microwave oven.

There is a washing machine, a hot/cold shower, and toilets in the washroom. Students will also have access to a phone and the internet.

Nanjing's climate is humid subtropical, and it is influenced by the East Asian monsoon. The four seasons are distinct, and the average yearly temperature is roughly 16 degrees Celsius (60.8 degrees Fahrenheit).

China is the world's greatest producer of engineering graduates.

Even though the curriculum is taught in English, international students are required to study Chinese by the Chinese Ministry of Education. Chinese language sessions are only offered three times a week for the first two years, and international students must pass the basic level.

Answer: For English-taught undergraduate and postgraduate programs, no English language test is required. However, students with strong English backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply for the programs.

Students are only permitted to work part-time with the university's permission.
